The ambitious standalone Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London is getting closer than ever to its release. Developer Team FOLON recently teased that "the end is in sight" and that the game has been handed over for final quality testing.

Team FOLON's X (formerly Twitter) account posted the good news on July 6, sharing a screenshot of a Discord message that claimed that several builds for the mod had been sent to the CD Projekt-owned video game distribution platform GOG. Team FOLON added that they are "waiting for the final green light" and shared more information about the process of getting the game into the hands of the Fallout franchise's fans. Fallout 4 was released back in 2015 and is available to play on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Fallout: London will be available for PC players when it is released.

The developer hinted that once the mod has been double-checked and has been found to work on all supported machines, things should be "good to go", while also adding that Fallout: London will have its own installer and downgrader as well. "We can assure you that the heads of the department have been working non-stop behind the scenes during this time to make the release build as good as it can be. The end is in sight."

Fallout: London Offers an Entirely New Experience for Fallout Fans

Fallout: London has been in development since 2019, with the total conversion mod releasing a gameplay trailer back in 2022. The mod takes the Fallout franchise outside its typical United States setting and transports it to the United Kingdom, offering fans a new world, factions, storylines, NPCS and more. The mod is a condensed version of London that focuses on the city's central boroughs, with the world map being about the size of the vanilla Fallout 4Commonwealth and Far Harbor combined.

According to Fallout London's website, the developers behind the game -- Team FOLON -- are a dedicated group of hobbyists, industry professionals, modders and game enthusiasts who share a common love for the series. They describe themselves as being "committed to delivering an unforgettable gaming experience."

More information surrounding the Fallout: London release will be shared via Team FOLON as it becomes available.
