Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Gets Official Release Date

Another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action movie from Paramount is on the way, with a bit of a twist this time.

Per Deadline, "The project was already announced with Neal H. Moritz producing. Under Paramount, the three Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies (two live-action, one animated) have grossed close to $913 million worldwide. The brand alone cleared $1 billion in retail for Paramount in calendar year 2023, as Deadline first told you." There's little known about the live-action hybrid Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesmovie yet, aside from its confirmed release date of Nov. 17., 2026.

Alongside the announcement that Paramount would be behind another live-action-ish Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles featured film, Deadline shared exciting news about Sonic The Hedgehog's cinematic future. In addition to Sonic The Hedgehog 4, Paramount will be creating a Sonic The Hedgehog universe movie to build upon the mainline series.

"The Sonic universe movie will be produced by Moritz’s Original Film and SEGA Sammy Group. Last year in the pre-Christmas frame, Paramount opened Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to No. 1 at $60.1M domestic. The movie went on to make $236.1M stateside and $492.1M worldwide. All in, the Sonic trilogy for Paramount has grossed $1.2 billion. There was also a Knuckles spinoff series for Paramount+ which in its first 28 days on the streamer clocked 11 million-plus global hours and ranked as the No. 1 Kids and Family Paramount+ series ever in terms of hours," Deadline reports.

What's Next For The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will receive multiple cinematic adaptations in the coming years. The animated hit, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, has been confirmed for a sequel project. The Hollywood Reporter has shared that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has been delayed to 2027, which will mean fans of the crime-fighting reptiles will have subsequent releases to look forward to.

The original voice cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem are expected to return for the second installation into the now-franchise. Little details are known about the sequel, yet writer and producer Seth Rogen did tease that "there is a title, and it's awesome, but I don't think I can say it." Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 releases on Sept. 17., 2027.
