IDW Publishing's new The Twilight Zone has been a major success both critically (at CBR, we have raved about each of the three issues so far), and commercially, as IDW has announced that the series, which was originally tentatively planned as a five-issue limited series, will now continue at least another batch of five issues (with star creators like Nicole Goux, Tony Fleecs & Andy Price, Gabriel Hardman, Juni Ba, Charles & Rosemary Soule, and more).

Now, in a CBR exclusive preview of next week's The Twilight Zone #4, see a first look at the entry from Eisner Award-winning writer/artist, Nate Powell, who is perhaps best known for being the artist on the iconic March graphic novels (detailing John Lewis' work during the Civil Rights era).

This all-new Twilight Zone anthology series continues with standalone stories by some of the best creators in comics today! Each issue is a fresh tale in the vein of the iconic original television series that’s captivated audiences for over 60 years. And like the show, these stories will be revealed in terrifying black and white!

THIS ISSUE: The scene is set. A beautiful lake in summer, a houseboat for the weekend. When Laura takes her abrasive brother, Chet, on a birthday vacation, their relationship is already wobbling on its last leg. A loving sister and her devoted boyfriend will try—desperately and one final time—to salvage a relationship with a once-loving little brother now grown to be a hateful young man. But when all three are plunged into worlds of their deepest desires, will they even want to find each other once again?

National Book Award–winning cartoonist Nate Powell (the March trilogy, Swallow Me Whole) serves as your guide into the Twilight Zone in this can’t-miss issue!

In the preview pages, we see three people arrive for a weekend vacation rental on a houseboat. The three people renting the houseboat are a young married couple, and Chet, the twin brother of the wife in the married couple.

Chet is clearly a sketchy dude with serious entitlement issues. The weekend is a "celebration" of Chet finally moving out of his mother's basement, and yet Chet seems REALLY proud of doing that, but when his sister TELLS him she's proud of him, he mocks her kindness. He also insists that he gets the bed while the married couple stay on the futon in a weird room in the boat that has an open floor to the water below.

Chet pretends that he is being attacked by something in the water in the open hole, but he's just being a jerk to his sister (who, of course, loves and supports her brother, and all she gets is mockery).

As the preview ends, the husband notes that he hears singing coming from the boat, and, well, if you want to see what kind of spooky stuff follows THAT little revelation, you'll just have to pick up a copy of The Twilight Zone #4 when it comes out next week!
