Even with a slew of Marvel properties hitting Disney+ and theaters in the near future, the new head of Disney doesn't see superhero fatigue as an issue
Despite a barrage of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) projects hitting movie theaters and Disney+ in the near future, Disney's newly installed chief executive officer, Bob Chapek, doesn't see superhero fatigue as a pressing issue.
"In terms of fatigue, I guess that's borne out in the numbers," Chapek said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference, referencing the success of WandaVision. "I would say the situation is the same for Marvel as it is Lucas[film]. You know, if you look at it, we've averaged over a billion dollars a film since the acquisition of both Lucas[film] and Marvel, which I think is an absolutely incredible statistic."
