Disney+’s popular Star Wars series, Andor, may have come to an end earlier this year, but another show is still going strong. Ahsoka, which stars Rosario Dawson as the titular Ahsoka Tano, concluded its first season in October 2023 and has just received a massive update.
One of the stars of Ahsoka, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, has seemingly confirmed that Season 2 of the Disney+ series has wrapped filming. Bordizzo took to Instagram, sharing two photos that allude to the exciting Ahsoka Season 2 update. Bordizzo, who plays Sabine Wren in the series, posted two photos to her Instagram story regarding Season 2.
The first photo was of several deer grazing with the caption: “Ohhhh Richmond. Thank you for holding me gently for 7 beautiful months.” The second photo showed a shadow of both Bordizzo and Dawson in costume as their respective characters. It was captioned: “and as for this journey…It only gets more epic.” Season 2 began filming in late April after Dawson confirmed she would be returning to the role of Ahsoka Tano at the Star Wars Celebration in Japan earlier this year.

The first season of Ahsoka ended with several of the show’s characters being stranded on Peridia when Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and the Nightsisters escaped with Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) as a stowaway on their ship. Former Jedi Baylan Skoll (played by the late Ray Stevenson) then set off on his own journey to try to uncover the secrets of the planet. Meanwhile, his apprentice, Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno), was left to fight Ahsoka and Sabine.
More Ahsoka Season 2 Updates

In June, the directors for Ahsoka Season 2 were announced and include showrunner Dave Filoni, Jennifer Getzinger, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anders Engström. Getzinger directed the Season 1 episode “Part Six: Far, Far, Away,” while Howard has directed for the Disney+ Star Wars shows The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Engström is new to the franchise.
In a previous interview, Shin Hati actor Ivanna Sakhno described Season 2 as “really exciting.” She added, “A lot of heart is put into it. We’re trying to honor the world and the story as much as possible and have some really cool fights coming up, hopefully.” Season 2, like Season 1, will have eight episodes written by Filoni. The role of Baylon Skoll will be taken over by Rory McCann, who is best known for his role as The Hound on Game of Thrones.
Ahsoka Season 2 could also see the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The actor previously said he would “love to” reprise the role for the second season. “I would love to, yes,” Christensen said. “If the powers that be decide that’s something that they want to see, I would be there in a heartbeat,” he added.
A premiere date for Ahsoka Season 2 has yet to be announced.
