Multiple characters from the Last Son of Krypton's newest cinematic outing pop up in a Superman fan poster by archerxhood. This comes after Superman star and Lois Lane actor Rachel Brosnahan shared her comedic Lois Lane casting story.
The poster (via X) sees characters like Superman, Krypto, Mister Terrific, Lois Lane, Hawkgirl and other characters in front of the "S" emblem as light surrounds them. Above the image is text which reads, "Up, up and away." Tying into this, Superman writer-director and DC Studios co-head James Gunn delved into why other DC heroes are in the project in 2023, avowing at the time, "They fit the story I'm telling. Story always comes first."

Putting the spotlight on Superman itself, Gunn insisted that David Corenswet's Superman performance will "blow people the f--- away" in October 2024, going on to further note, "He is the movie star that everyone just dreams he could possibly be. And I don't think anyone really understands the depth of this guy's talent, dramatically, comedically, he's the best physical action star I've probably ever worked with... He's an amazing actor, and Rachel Brosnahan, people are going to die for her as well."
Up, up, and away.
Before that, Gunn touched upon how Christopher Reeve's Man of Steel influenced his own, asking how does one "take this outrageous concept of a guy who flies around" and turn him into something real, adding, "I think that, you know, what we're doing is different. It's its own thing. But I'm definitely influenced by what [director Richard] Donner did with Superman, and what Christopher Reeve did with Superman, and Margot Kidder, who's fantastic in the movie. She's really the heart of it in a lot of ways." More recently, Gunn revealed his one major condition for casting David Corneswet as Superman.

Additionally, Corenswet touched upon how he prepared for Clark Kent and Superman in December 2024, conveying that Gunn "suggested All-Star Superman to read for Clark, specifically, because there are interesting challenges with Clark." He further avouched, "It was interesting having a silent version to look at. I hadn't read so many Superman comics that I had since all the different Clarks that have appeared in the comics. I knew the ones that appeared in television and films, but it was great having a silent one and getting the impression from that. So, I drew a lot from that, specifically, for Clark." Circling back to Gunn, Gunn debunked a rumored connection between Superman and Creature Commandos. Gunn also delved into why he's not telling Batman and Superman's origin stories again, professing, "I'm not telling Batman and Superman's origin stories again because everyone knows them."
Superman arrives in theaters faster than a speeding bullet on July 11.
