Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Hit With a Massive Release Delay

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is hit with a major delay and will miss Tits planned 2022 release window entirely.

Announced on Twitter by creative director Sefton Hill, Rocksteady's upcoming superhero shooter is now targeting a Spring 2023 launch. "We've made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to Spring 2023," writes Hill. "I know a delay is frustrating but that time is going into making the best game we can. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis together. Thanks for your patience." A video of the Squad reacting in a disappointing manner accompanied the announcement.

While there have been reports that Warner Bros. was planning on delaying some of its upcoming video game launches, many fans wrote them off as false rumors following the announcement of Gotham Knights' Oct. 25 release date. While the reason behind Kill the Justice League's delay is currently unknown, many believe that Rocksteady is taking the extra time to further polish the game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was one of 2022's most-anticipated games. Developer Rocksteady earned a reputation for crafting extremely detailed superhero games following the revered Batman Arkham trilogy. Task Force X's first video game adaption will see the group of villains fighting the Justice League who have been brainwashed by Brainiac. Players will need to go up against dark versions of Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash and even Superman. Since the game is set within the same universe as Rocksteady's other games, it seems unlikely that Batman will make an appearance following Bruce Wayne's untimely death in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Players will step into the boots of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark as the titular Squad blasts a bloody trail through a war-torn Metropolis. Each of the playable characters comes equipped with unique weapons and abilities which can be used to eliminate the hordes of enemies. Kill the Justice League will feature an entirely open world, filled with unique objectives and foes to vanquish.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is now scheduled to launch in spring 2023 and will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
