Be it official toys or third-party merchandise, Optimus Prime and Megatron have the most figures of any characters in the Transformers franchise. Now, two releases from several years ago representing the faction leaders are becoming available once more.
Threezero is re-releasing its DLX War For Cybertron Trilogy: Siege Optimus Prime And Megatron toys, which are based on the official Hasbro figures and the corresponding designs in the Netflix anime. Now ready for preorder, the figures will be rolling out by the middle of the year. For those wanting to complete their collections, however, there are a few notable differences this time around.
Third-Party Transformers Figures Return After Half a Decade

First released in 2020, Threezero's DLX War For Cybertron Trilogy: Siege Optimus Prime And Megatron figures are based on the Transformers: War for Cybertron: Siege toy line and Netflix anime series. Their general designs are detailed updates of their classic Generation 1 designs, with both bearing battle damage and shading to give them a more polished look. While they don't transform, they do come with many weapons and accessories that the official Hasbro toys also had. In the case of Megatron, this includes his fusion cannon and a sword (based on a sword that the Japanese version of the G1 toy came with), while Optimus Prime has an Ion blaster, a shield and a massive ax.
Each figure also has a DLX action stand and four sets of interchangeable hands, allowing for them to hold their weapons and be posed in a myriad of scenes. Given that they also have 50 points of articulation, the posing possibilities are nearly endless for fans seeking to recreate scenes from the Netflix show. The Threezero toys stand at 10 inches and have both diecast metal frames and LED lights that illuminate the eyes and different parts of the body (Megatron's overall body and Prime's chest cavity). Overall, Megatron is much the same as how he was in the first 2020 release, but Prime's chest windows have been changed to blue instead of their original green coloration. Both figures can now be preordered online and cost US$189.99 -- an increase from when the first versions were sold five years ago.
