Mark Hamill Celebrates Carrie Fisher's Walk of Fame Star

Mark Hamill congratulated the 2022 inductees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which include his former Star Wars costar, the late Carrie Fisher.

The actor shared his tribute on Twitter, saying "I congratulate & salute all 38 new #HollywoodWalkOfFame honorees - Welcome to the neighborhood! Much love & a very special 1-finger salute to the incomparable, hilarious & irreverent force of nature that was my space sis Carrie Fisher. Her star will blaze from here to eternity."

Hamill and Fisher starred together in six of the StarWars movies as Jedi knight Luke Skywalker and Princess of Alderaan (later, General of the Resistance) Leia Organa. Fisher died of a sudden cardiac arrest in 2016 at the age of 60. StarWars:TheLastJedi was dedicated to her memory, and her role in TheRiseofSkywalker was completed via unused archival footage. Among the tributes to her life and her legacy were a fan-made memorial using a blank star on the Walk of Fame, and a special memorial held by Hamill at the StarWars celebration in Orlando.

Other members of the Class of 2022 include Fisher's fellow StarWars actors Ewan MacGregor and Ming-Na Wen, and Francis Ford Coppola, a longtime contemporary of franchise creator George Lucas.
