The Mandalorian and Grogu Finds Its Place in the Star Wars Timeline

Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu has officially found its place in the galaxy’s expanding timeline.

Disney+ now positions the movie after Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and before Star Wars Resistance, giving fans a clearer picture of where Din Djarin and Grogu’s latest adventure takes place.

The placement makes sense considering the story is set after the original Star Wars trilogy but well before the events of the sequel trilogy. It also puts the movie at the latest point so far in the group of interconnected stories fans often call the “Mandoverse.”

That era began with The Mandalorian and expanded through The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka. While Skeleton Crewwas less directly connected to those shows, Disney+ now places it immediately before The Mandalorian and Grogu.

The bigger mystery is what comes next.

Ahsoka Season 2 is expected to continue the story from its first season, but it remains unclear whether those events will happen before, after, or possibly at the same time as The Mandalorian and Grogu.
