Lucasfilm has officially announced new DLC for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. A release date and teaser trailer have also been shared, along with details about the new DLC's story.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase by Bethesda and MachineGames in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games, with a special teaser trailer shown to celebrate it being the main game's first DLC. The Order of Giants will be released for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Game Pass on Sept. 4, 2025. Players will navigate a number of intricate puzzles in the DLC, with the developers teasing "a few familiar faces" returning as Indiana Jones explores Rome's ancient sewer system.
What is Indiana Jones & The Great Circle: The Order of Giants About?
Set during the events of the main game, The Order of Giants sees Indy returning to the city of Rome to uncover a "dark secret that lies beneath the city." He will work together with a new character, Father Ricci, "a young, cryptic priest who is seeking help in tracking down a mysterious artifact." While things may begin as a pretty standard treasure hunt for the seasoned adventurer, Indiana Jones soon finds himself deep below the streets of Rome exploring ancient crypts, visiting new locations (like the ruins of the Colosseum), and meeting an enemy lurking within the shadows.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was released for Windows and Xbox Series X/S in December 2025, with a PlayStation 5 version being released this April. Played primarily from a first-person perspective, players control Indiana Jones and work through the game's story, utilizing mechanics like stealth as well as Indy's signature whip as a weapon. In the game's main story, players try to thwart various groups trying to harness the power of "the Great Circle", which are mysterious sites around the world.
The Great Circle featured numerous real-world locations, including the Vatican City, Thailand, Egypt, and China. The game has been well-received by fans and critics, and it was the second-best-selling game in the US during its launch week. Disney is reportedly looking to make more Indiana Jones games after The Great Circle's strong performance.
The Great Circle marked the first new Indiana Jones game in over a decade, with its predecessor, Indiana Jones Adventure World, being released in 2011 by Zynga. The games build on the popular film franchise, which began in 1981 with Raiders of the Lost Ark, starring Harrison Ford as the beloved archaeology professor Indiana Jones. The Great Circle uses Ford's likeness, with Troy Baker (The Last of Us) providing voiceover work.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Game Pass. The Order of Giants DLC arrives on Sept. 4, 2025.
