Daredevil: Born Again streaming series co-creator and showrunner Dario Scardapane quietly confirms one character who won't be back for Season 2.
As seen in a Jul. 10 Instagram post from Scardapane, the showrunner confirmed that filming on Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again had wrapped, and offered a special thanks to members of the cast and crew who helped make it happen. Notably absent from the list of those who received said special thanks was Elden Henson, who famously portrayed Foggy Nelson in both the original Daredevil series and in Daredevil: Born Again.
Presumably, this means that Henson will not be returning for Season 2, which only makes sense considering his character's death early on in Season 1 was what set off many of the series' initial events. Back in April, Daredevil: Born Again director Aaron Moorhead discussed how the series' creative team came to the decision to kill Foggy off in the first place, recalling that "We were looking at Elden, and we started to think, ‘What right do we have [to kill Foggy]?’ But [Elden] gave us his blessing as long as we took it very seriously, and it wasn’t just meant to be something shocking. If it resonated out and was the reason that Matt did the things that he did for the rest of the show, then we’d have permission to do it.”
The first season of Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ on March 4, and quickly established its place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the latest grim and gritty street-level superhero story. The series follows the events of Netflix's Defenders line of shows, which included the likes of Daredevil, The Punisher, and Jessica Jones, as well as the events of other Disney+ shows such as Echo. Daredevil: Born Again brought back numerous fan-favorites, including Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle, better known as the Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin - Wilson Fisk.
What Can Fans Expect From Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?

While fans are currently eagerly awaiting the release of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, which is set to introduce a whole host of new stars ranging from Matthew Lillard to Lili Taylor, it seems that Marvel Studios already has bigger plans for the series beyond that. Back in May, D'Onofrio opened up about the future of the series, explaining that "If [Marvel lets] us do it, we have a plan. It is up to the fans to get excited. And it is up to us to please them and get the story right." D'Onofrio added, "We are looking forward in a big way." Although there are no firm details regarding where the story of Season 2 will lead, fans already know that D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk will be staring down some stiff competition not just in the form of Charlie Cox's Daredevil, but in those of new political opponents, as well.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
