Daredevil star Vincent D'Onofrio confirms that production on the second season of Born Again is already underway.
While speaking to Newsweek, D'Onofrio revealed that Marvel Studios is already thinking of the future. "By the second season, there are gigantic, gigantic payoffs—in the first season, too, but I can't say much about that—but the fans are gonna really get what they want. It's really quite cool to be doing it," the actor said. "We've only just started shooting. I think we're a couple weeks in, and the show is going to be very, very different than the Netflix show, and it's so exciting because what we're doing is quite something."
While details on Daredevil: Born Again are scarce, many enthusiasts are hoping the show will continue the story that began with Netflix's series and ran throughout the rest of the streaming giant's Defenders series, including Luke Cage and Jessica Jones. D'Onofrio first appeared as Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin, in the first season of Daredevil, with his latest return to the role taking place in 2021's Hawkeye. The actor will return as Fisk for the upcoming Echo series starring Alaqua Cox as the titular villain-turned-antihero. D'Onofrio previously confirmed Echo would set the stage for Daredevil: Born Again, saying, "It's like full-on in the last few episodes of [Echo]. It's going to be quite something. And that leads into, of course, Born Again."

Among those joining the MCU in Born Again is Michael Gandolfini in a currently undisclosed role. Though he hasn't opened up about the character, Gandolfini did give fans a hint as to what part he will be playing. "I believe all I can say about my character is that my character is from Staten Island, and that's about it," the actor said. Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 is slated to premiere in Spring 2024.
