It's a bird... It's a plane... No, it's the official trailer for James Gunn's Superman! DC Studios has finally released the first full trailer for the DC Universe blockbuster that will reintroduce audiences around the world to the Man of Steel.

After a string of teasers, previews, and behind-the-scenes featurettes, the official trailer for Superman has arrived with a ton of new footage. The trailer begins with Clark Kent agreeing to let Lois Lane interview him as Superman. It's the first real glimpse fans have gotten at seeing how David Corenswet will play both sides of the same character, with his voice and posture shifting as he goes from mild-mannered Clark Kent to the confident Superman. The official trailer also features several new shots of the other superheroes who will appear in the DCU blockbuster, including the first look at María Gabriela de Faría's The Engineer using her powers (R.I.P. Kryptonian robots). Check out the official Superman trailer (and new poster) below.

"In his signature style, James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind," reads a logline for Superman.

Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan headline Superman as the DCU's Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively. The ensemble also includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, and Neva Howell as Martha Kent, among others.

Unlike the last major Superman movie, 2013's Man of Steel, Superman will forgo the typical origin story in favor of jumping right in with the Big Blue Boy Scout. The movie will also introduce a DCU that's already full of heroes and villains, with Corenswet's Superman set to share the big screen with four other superheroes — Nathan Fillion's Green Lantern, Edi Gathegi's Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced's Hawkgirl, and Anthony Carrigan's Metamorpho.

Superman is slated to hit theaters on July 11.
