Announced by an official press release from Marvel Comics, "After his long-awaited return in The Mandalorian, Boba Fett went on to headline his own Disney+ series, The Book of Boba Fett. The hit show reintroduced the iconic bounty hunter to fans everywhere as he navigated the galaxy’s underworld and claimed control of Tatooine following Jabba the Hutt’s fall. This August, in the long-standing tradition of Marvel Comics epic Star Wars adaptations, Marvel brings this pivotal Star Wars saga to comic stands in STAR WARS: BOOK OF BOBA FETT, a seven-issue series by Star Wars veterans Rodney Barnes (Han Solo – Hunt for the Falcon, Ahsoka) and Will Sliney (Rise of Kylo Ren). The comic series marks the exciting comic book debut of several key characters, including Garsa Fwip, Dokk Strassi, Mok Shaiz's Majordomo, and more!"

The solicit for STAR WARS: BOOK OF BOBA FETT reads, "BOBA FETT HOLDS COURT AND FACES NEW CHALLENGES ON TATOOINE! After escaping from the Sarlacc Pit, Boba Fett has taken over Jabba the Hutt’s syndicate—but does he have what it takes to keep Tatooine in order?"'

Will The Book of Boba Fett Return for Season 2?

While The Book of Boba Fett is set to make a comeback in comic book form, the fate of the Disney+ spin-off series has yet to be determined. A fabled Season 2 seems greatly unlikely as The Book of Boba Fett's initial release date ages by the year, and the televison series failed to completely impress Star Wars fans.

"Star Wars fans, myself included, are extremely passionate. Star Wars has been with us for decades, and every film, every show, every comic feels like a personal adventure. It becomes easy for fans to get lost in that passion and become deceived by their own expectations. The Book of Boba Fett is certainly a victim of that. With an audience score of only 48% on Rotten Tomatoes, it's clear that the fans had strong negative feelings about Boba Fett's new adventures. But what were you expecting? Fans wanted Boba Fett to sweep through the Outer Rim with Fennec at his side, killing indiscriminately and establishing a criminal empire as powerful as the Hutts.

Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett #1 goes on sale on Sept. 9.
