Snoop Dogg Biopic Casts Popular Netflix Actor as the Iconic Rapper

Snoop Dogg has a biopic that's currently in development, set to bring the life story of the famed rapper to the big screen. The first question fans will likely have about the movie is who will be playing the music icon, and the answer to that has just been revealed.

Per Deadline, actor Jonathan Daviss has been tapped to portray Snoop Dogg in the upcoming biopic in the works at Universal Pictures. The announcement comes just days after it was reported that Craig Brewer had signed on to direct the feature film. Snoop Dogg is on board as a producer on the project alongside Brian Grazer and Death Row Pictures President Sara Ramaker.

Daviss is best known for his Netflix work, particularly as one of the stars of the hit series Outer Banks. The Houston native plays the role of Pope on the show, which is set to end with its upcoming fifth season. Daviss also appeared in the 2022 movie Do Revenge, a black comedy that premiered on Netflix in 2022, which also starred Camila Mendes, Maya Hawke, and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Other film credits include Edge of the World and the TV movies Deliverance Creek and Shattered Memories.
