Since launching in June 2025, the system has impressed fans with major games like Mario Kart World, Cyberpunk 2077, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows — proving Nintendo can finally handle massive AAA titles on the go.
And 2026 is looking even bigger with upcoming games like Splatoon Raiders, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and Borderlands 4.
But there’s one concern growing around the Switch 2 — possible price hikes.
Right now the console sells for about $449 dollars, but reports say shareholders are pushing Nintendo to raise prices due to hardware costs and slowing stock performance.
Nintendo has already increased prices on accessories and physical games, so fans are worried the console itself could be next.
And if prices climb too high, gamers may start looking at competitors like the Steam Deck.
Still, with this lineup of games, the Switch 2 remains one of the hottest systems in gaming.
