Wolverine is ready to flash his claws again — this time with a behind-the-scenes look at Insomniac Games’ highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine.

The upcoming video game has been one of the most talked-about comic book adaptations in gaming since it was first teased years ago. Now, with the game set for a September release, fans will also have a new companion book to look forward to this fall.

Dark Horse Books, Insomniac Games, and Marvel Games have announced Marvel’s Wolverine: The Art of the Game, a new art book that will give fans a closer look at the making of the game, including concept art, character designs, costumes, and locations.

The book will explore Logan’s journey in the upcoming action-adventure game, which features an original story from Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment in collaboration with Marvel Games. Players will step into the role of Wolverine as he faces familiar enemies including the Sentinels, Omega Red, and Mystique.

The story will also take Wolverine across several major locations, including the frozen Canadian wilderness, the city streets of Tokyo, and the remote island of Madripoor — a location with deep ties to Wolverine’s comic book history.

The new art book is written by games historian and freelance journalist Alex Forbes-Calvin, who was given behind-the-scenes access to the Marvel Games and Insomniac teams. The book will highlight how the developers approached Wolverine’s world, characters, and visual design while putting a fresh spin on familiar Marvel locations and villains.

The first-look pages include a double-page spread of Madripoor, showing off the island’s atmosphere and design. Another preview page focuses on Wolverine’s costume design for the game, giving fans a closer look at how Insomniac is bringing Logan’s iconic look into this new gaming universe.

Marvel’s Wolverine: The Art of the Game will be 208 pages long and is priced at $54.99. The book is scheduled to arrive in stores on November 3.
