My Adventures with Superman has finally returned, and fans appear to be showing up for the new season.

According to FlixPatrol, the animated DC series recently reached No. 9 on HBO Max’s list of most-streamed TV shows in the United States. The ranking comes as the series returns with new episodes on Adult Swim after a two-year break.

The show’s comeback suggests that viewers are still invested in this fresh, character-driven take on the Man of Steel.

My Adventures with Superman Brings Back Heart, Action, and Anime-Inspired Style

My Adventures with Superman offers a different kind of Superman story. While familiar characters like Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Kara Zor-El remain central to the series, the show puts a major focus on relationships, identity, and found family.

The heart of the series has often been the bond between Clark and Lois, but Season 3 also expands the spotlight to Kara, also known as Supergirl, and her growing connection with Jimmy Olsen. When the action begins, the series fully embraces its anime-inspired style, giving the show a fast, colorful, and energetic look that helps it stand apart from other Superman adaptations.

“This is the kind of show action-animation fans tune into Toonami for,” said Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim, when the Season 3 return date was announced. “Season three of My Adventures with Superman goes harder, looks bigger, and packs the emotional punch that makes this series such a standout.”

Critics have also responded positively. Season 3 earned a 100% positive score on Rotten Tomatoes, continuing the show’s perfect critical streak across all three seasons.

What Is My Adventures with Superman Season 3 About?

Season 3 finds Clark Kent more comfortable in his role as Superman. He has accepted his Kryptonian roots and appears ready to build a more settled life. Lois Lane, however, is moving in a different direction. Now a rising star reporter at the Daily Planet, Lois is focused on her career and not quite ready to slow down.

Jimmy Olsen has also changed. He has gone from freelance photographer to celebrity journalist, but his confidence is tested by the arrival of Kara Zor-El, who is still trying to understand her place on Earth.

Together, Clark, Lois, Jimmy, and Kara form a found family facing new threats that challenge Superman’s strength, test their relationships, and put their future in danger.

Season 3 also draws inspiration from the classic 1990s Superman comic book storyline “Reign of the Supermen.” That influence includes the introduction of Cyborg Superman as a major villain, along with Darren Criss joining the voice cast as Superboy.

Voice Cast and Creative Team

The voice cast of My Adventures with Superman includes Jack Quaid as Clark Kent/Superman, Alice Lee as Lois Lane, Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen, and Kiana Madeira as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl.

The series is led by Jake Wyatt and Brendan Clogher, who serve as co-executive producers and showrunners.

New episodes of My Adventures with Superman air first on Adult Swim before streaming the next day on HBO Max. The first two seasons, along with the opening episodes of Season 3, are available to stream now.

The world of the series is also set to expand, with a spinoff titled My Adventures with Green Lantern currently in development.
