Peter Parker and MJ have one of Spider-Man’s most famous relationships — but the Marvel Cinematic Universe tells their love story very differently from the comics. After the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the entire world forgets Peter Parker. Peter remembers MJ and everything they shared, but MJ no longer remembers their relationship. Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up years later with Peter living a very different life. He is still emotionally connected to MJ, even as she has moved forward without remembering the life they once shared. But here’s where Spider-Man comic history gets VERY different. Zendaya’s MCU character is Michelle “MJ” Jones-Watson. She is inspired by elements of Mary Jane Watson, but she isn’t a direct recreation of the classic Marvel Comics character. In Marvel Comics, Gwen Stacy was one of Peter Parker’s most important early loves. Peter met Gwen while attending Empire State University, and their relationship eventually became serious. Mary Jane Watson was also part of Peter’s social circle, and Gwen and Mary Jane even competed for Peter’s attention during those early stories. Then Spider-Man history changed forever. Gwen Stacy was killed during the famous Amazing Spider-Man story “The Night Gwen Stacy Died.” The tragedy had a huge effect on Peter — and on Mary Jane. Mary Jane stayed with Peter during his grief, and their friendship eventually developed into one of Marvel’s most famous romances. Peter and Mary Jane ultimately married in the comics. Years later, Marvel’s controversial “One More Day” storyline erased Peter and Mary Jane’s marriage from continuity. The comic-book era that followed was called — you guessed it — BRAND NEW DAY. So while the MCU’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day borrows ideas from those comics, it does not tell the exact same story. And one more important difference: Gwen Stacy is NOT Peter’s new romantic interest in the current Brand New Day movie. Following the release of *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, attention is already turning toward what could be Tom Holland’s fifth solo Spider-Man movie. Tom Holland and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige have both discussed plans for Spider-Man’s future, but Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have not yet announced an official title, release date, full cast or storyline for Spider-Man 5. That leaves some huge questions: Will Peter Parker continue on the path established in *Brand New Day*? Could characters such as MJ, Ned, Jean Grey, Hulk or Punisher return? Will Miles Morales finally enter Peter Parker’s live-action story? And how could Spider-Man’s future connect to the larger MCU? **Marvel’s Wolverine Is Almost Here! Everything We Know About the PS5 Game** SNIKT! Wolverine is finally getting a major new solo video game — and this one looks much darker and more brutal than Insomniac’s Spider-Man series. *Marvel’s Wolverine* is being developed by **Insomniac Games** in collaboration with **Marvel Games** and PlayStation Studios. The game is scheduled to launch **September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5**. This is an original Wolverine story centered on Logan after he has walked away from Team X. When mutants begin disappearing, Wolverine is pulled back into action and discovers that **Bolivar Trask and the Reavers** are targeting mutants. Logan’s journey will take players through locations including **Canada, Tokyo and Madripoor** as he uncovers secrets from his own past and fights to protect mutantkind. The game is also bringing some major Marvel characters into the story, including: * Jean Grey * Bolivar Trask * Omega Red * Deathstrike * The Reavers * The Hand And Insomniac has also teased the possible appearance of one of Wolverine’s greatest enemies — **Sabretooth**. Unlike Insomniac’s Spider-Man games, *Marvel’s Wolverine* is **not an open-world game**. It is a focused, single-player, story-driven action adventure. And Logan definitely doesn’t fight like Spider-Man. Wolverine can stalk enemies, launch brutal surprise attacks, use his claws in close combat and unleash powerful special techniques. His legendary **Healing Factor** helps him recover from injuries, while building his Rage meter can send Logan into an even more dangerous state. The game has earned an **M for Mature** rating, making this a much more violent Marvel experience than Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles. Wolverine also has a long history in gaming. Fans may remember: **X2: Wolverine’s Revenge** from 2003, which featured Mark Hamill as the voice of Wolverine. And the fan-favorite **X-Men Origins: Wolverine** game from 2009, developed by Raven Software and released alongside the Hugh Jackman movie. Now Insomniac Games — the studio behind *Marvel’s Spider-Man*, *Spider-Man: Miles Morales* and *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* — gets its chance to create a Wolverine adventure for a new generation. FUN FACT: Wolverine’s new voice actor is **Liam McIntyre**, while **Krizia Bajos voices Jean Grey**. There is even an official prequel comic written by the game’s Narrative Director Walt Williams that explores Logan’s history with Team X before the events of the game. And the Wolverine excitement doesn’t stop with the game.
